Dia de los Muertos

Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage.  The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember departed family and friends.  The celebration occurs on November 1st and 2nd.

The images to the right, Guitar Man, Sax Man and Maraca Man, have been projected on the buildings during Mardi Gras celebrations in the Gaslamp District in San Diego California and published in two magazines here in the United States.

Ladies in Jazz

In an adventure to portray the women I admire I looked for those who have overcome and conquered and triumphed over the difficulties that life dishes out.  After choosing whom to portray in ink, I settled into the meditative state of putting one dot of ink on another and marveling as the images appeared.  Starting with the eyes and seeing as the essence of the lady come zooming off the paper and then continuing to the finish.
