
Laura Jean
a native San Diegan, grew up in Los Angeles County and in 1985 returned to San Diego. She expresses her thoughts, feelings and inspirations through art, creating images inspired by her intuitive connection to spirit and nature working in pen & ink, watercolor, acrylics and ceramics.
She intends is that the viewer gains a sense of inner calm from viewing her work.
She is primarily a self-taught artist. She earned a degree in Graphic Design from Platt College in 1987.
Her artwork is in private collections throughout the United States, and internationally in Europe and Australia and locally in San Diego, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Alpine, Coronado, Chula Vista, Los Angeles, Simi Valley and Santa Barbara.
Laura Jean currently serves as President of Women's Caucus for Art San Diego and is a former member of Ceramic Artists of San Diego. Her main artistic focus for the last few years has been serving as president of Women's Caucus for Art San Diego and assisting artists to connect, interact and expand their creative expression.
Laura Jean is a spiritual counselor, an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church and a Doctor of Divinity. She is often sought out by individuals wanting to talk to a non-denominational counselor. She spent decades studying world religions and spiritual practices, including Catholicism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Scientology, "A Course in Miracles", "The Secret", psychic abilities, intuition, meditation and yoga.
